Hey kids! It's the totally groovy, pop soundtrack from the cult counter-culture movie from 1968 - Wild in the Streets!
Taking the 60s catchphrase "Never trust anyone over 30" to its most extreme conclusion, Wild in the Streets tells the story of Max Frost, a 22-year old rock star millionaire who joins causes with a politician to get the vote for 14-year olds. Frost eventually becomes President and uses his powers to issue his first presidential edict with his youth-controlled police state agenda; anyone over 30 is required to live in "retirement homes" which actually resemble concentration camps....
Written by Les Baxter, with songs by successful songwriting team Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and arranged by Mike Curb, the Wild in the Streets soundtrack is a terrific collection of late 60s psychedelic pop songs that will have you stone-cold groovin' (even if you're over 30)!
The track "Psychedelic Senate" also appears on Groovy Soundtracks Vol. 2.
